The New York State Agricultural Society honors Century Farms each year and Bicentennial Farms every fifth year at the Society’s Annual Agricultural Forum.  A Bicentennial Farm is one that has been under continuous ownership by the same family for 200 years or more.  Family members MUST BE an integral part of the day to day operation of the farm enterprise.  Also, proceeds from the farm business must represent a significant portion of the current operator’s income.  When applying, we ask that you and/or a family representatives plan on attending the Ag Society annual meeting for the award presentation.  Either you have requested this application, or someone has recommended that you receive one. Your farm will be considered for this honor only if you fill the form out completely and return it by September 1.  A limited number of Bicentennial Farms will be honored.
