The New York State Agricultural Society honors
Century Farms each year
and
Bicentennial Farms every fifth year
at the Society’s Annual Agricultural Forum.
A Bicentennial Farm is one that has been under continuous
ownership by
the same family for
200 years or more.
Family members MUST BE an integral part of the day to day operation of
the farm enterprise. Also,
proceeds from the farm business must represent a significant
portion of the current operator’s income.
When applying, we ask that you and/or a family representatives plan on
attending the Ag Society annual meeting for the award
presentation. Either
you have requested this application, or someone has recommended
that you receive one. Your farm will be considered for this honor only
if you fill the form out completely and return it by September 1. A
limited number of Bicentennial Farms will be honored.
